Amidah Strategy from Moshe Rabbeinu

I learned  from Harav Simcha L Weinberg that the Zohar on parashat Ki Tisa (2:193b paragraph 5 in Sefaria) describes Moshe being aware of the different merits of the avot and using them to mitigate the harsh judgment against Israel for the sin of the golden calf. Michal Leah connects that to the amidah where it says, elokei avraham, elokei yitzchak, velokei yaakov. We have been given the power through the amidah to access the merits of our forefathers.
